Part of the Church of England. Only about 22 homes are inhabited in the village which is perhaps the most picturesque in Nidderdale. In November 2013 the Methodist Church and the Church of England united to provide worship in the Upper Dale which compliments both traditions without being exclusive to either. We also hold a number of special services throughout the year like Lambing Sunday , Bell Festival , Harvest, Nativity, Mothering Sunday and Songs of Praise. People from the Dale have great affection for this church dedicated to St Chad, who reputedly preached nearby. An ancient hammer-head cross was found buried in the churchyard and can be seen inside the west end of the church.
The Anglican Church of St Chad's and the Methodist Church in Upper Nidderdale are pleased to share worship together.
